Ascoltate il più possibile programmi TV o radio in inglese e cercate di trarne un senso compiuto.

Reading and Writing

Per questo primo test avete un'ora e mezza, tempo sufficente a chiunque per leggere testi di segnali, anche stradali, o ritagli di riviste e giornali; bisogna dimostrare di avere una conoscenza del vocabolario mnemonica scrivendo brevi frasi relative a ciò che leggerete; dovrete inoltre scrivere una storia di circa cento parole.


Imparate quindi a sintetizzare e scrivete spesso frasi complete in inglese; conservatele ed elaboratele.

I due tipi di esame PET

Il PET Exam of Cambridge è la certificazione che sapete usare la lingua inglese in tutti gli aspetti della vita quotidiana; il livello di preparazione richiesto è quello di Intermediate, al quale molti studenti di scuole superiori appartengono: gli adulti e i non studenti possono facilmente prepararsi per questo livello, non troppo difficile, a fronte di un impegno di studio razionale  e programmatico, con test di verifica periodici.

IL PET riguarda la capacità di lettura, di scrittura, di ascolto e di comunicazione:

molti selezionatori del personale accettano questo titolo di studio come una prova di una valida conoscenza della lingua inglese.

Ci sono due versioni del PET: il tradizionale e il PET for schools; sono identici anche nel livello di difficoltà; ma il secondo è dedicato in particolar modo al mondo della scuola, e alle esperienze vissute ogni giorno da studenti delle superiori.
